The meaning of the word ‘Phaeton’ is an open top four-wheeled vehicle pertaining to the age of the horse driven carriages of the pre automotive era. It is an apt name for the rim that resembles a contemporary design of a chariot wheel. The Phaeton is a take-off from a chariot wheel in every sense.
When Rennen was designing this rim they had the mindset of the high and the mighty in mind. This rim gives one the impression of a powerful senator of the Roman Empire. Without a doubt Rennen was targeting the high class with their Phaeton but priced it in the easy to reach segment so that everyone could get a share of class.
The Phaeton is cast in a single piece though the riveted look may give it to rugged look of pieces of heavy metal being bolted and riveted together. The rim comes in a lustrous chrome finish in a 20-inch diameter. This does not mean that the rim is any less tough as compared to its bitter rivals. No, much the contrary.
The Phaeton rim lives up to it’s name and is as tough as the horse driven carriages it gets its
name from.
